The Ministry of Education and Culture has invited the new university foundation’s founding members to attend a signing event on the establishment of the foundation. The event will take place in Tampere City Hall on 20 April, and the signing can be viewed live via online streaming on the web sites of the higher education institutions.
The new university foundation will act as a background organisation to the new university group. The foundation will also play a significant role in the establishment of the new university. Kari Neilimo, Chair of the Strategic Executive Group in charge of the project, is glad that the new foundation’s founding members include operators from so many different fields of society and business. Members come from industry and commerce, from the public and third sectors, from academic research, health care, and labour market organisations, and from many other fields.
“A multidisciplinary university should have a diverse group of founders. We are genuinely proud of our founding members and believe that the collaboration between the founders and the new university will be fruitful. It’s wonderful that we have the support of such a wide and diverse group of founders,” Neilimo says.
