InnoEvent Brings 600 Students Together to Innovate

Once again in November, InnoEvent joins 600 university students from Tampere to create solutions for 12 real life company cases. This year’s InnoEvent takes place on November 6–10 and is located in Tampere Arena and Finnkino Plevna.

Sprouting originally from Denmark’s Oden in 2010, the first InnoEvent Tampere was held three years later, in 2013. Previous years’ participants have been mostly from TAMK, but thanks to Tampere3, this year’s InnoEvent students are an equal mix from TAMK, UTA and TUT.

Five consecutive days of hard work measure students’ creativity, teamwork skills and resilience. All 600 students are divided into multidisciplinary teams for the company-given assignments. Even though students do all the heavy lifting, they receive support and guidance from both InnoEvent coaches and the company representatives throughout the project. The week culminates on Friday night’s gala, where the teams get to present their work for the companies, and finally jury awards the best ones.

InnoEvent week is a great opportunity for students to test their own limits, have fun and create important connections for the future. Enrolling is on and closes on Friday October 20.
