The general meeting held on Monday, 28 May amended the bylaws of Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd and appointed a new Board for TAMK.
Tampere University Foundation became the majority shareholder of Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd, when the City of Tampere transferred its 87 per cent ownership to Tampere University Foundation on 28 February 2018. The owners of Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd also include SASKY Municipal Education and Training Consortium, the City of Ikaalinen, the City of Ylöjärvi, the Foundation of Tampere Music Conservatory, and the Association of Tampere Institute of Home Economics.
On 19 April 2018, the Board of Tampere University Foundation decided to propose the amendment of the bylaws of Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd, so that the Board of TAMK would comprise no fewer than seven and no more than nine members. The Board also decided to propose the appointment of eight members to TAMK's Board: six representatives of the Board of Tampere University Foundation and two representatives of staff groups and students in accordance with the Act on Universities of Applied Sciences.
On Monday, 28 May, the general meeting of Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd decided to amend the bylaws in accordance with the proposal made by Tampere University Foundation. In addition to Lauri Hietalahti, who was nominated for Board membership by TAMK’s staff, and Roope Paasonen, who was nominated by TAMK’s students, the newly appointed Board comprises Marja Makarow, Pekka Puustinen, Linda Soikkeli, Mari Walls, Matti Höyssä and Jari Alanen, who were put forward as candidates by the Board of Tampere University Foundation.
At the general meeting, the 2017 financial statement and annual report were confirmed. The financial year's profit of 617,756.04 euros was added to the unrestricted equity.
